Submit Your Work

Want to be a published poet/author/artist? Submit your work!

Submissions for Maya 2022 are open! Our deadline has been extended to the end of winter term (March 12, 2022). All undergraduate students at Drexel University are encouraged to submit their work.

You can use the form below to submit OR email your submissions directly to If you are submitting art pieces, you can include an accessible Google Drive link OR submit them via email as attachments.

If you have special formatting for your writing, we suggest submitting your work as an attachment via email.

Other submission guidelines:

  • All writers/artists retain the rights to their works. If your work has been previously published elsewhere, make sure you retain the rights before submitting to Maya.
  • Be aware that we review submissions for acceptance. We also have a limit of four pieces max that can be published by each author for each category. However, you can submit as many pieces for consideration as you want, to as many categories as you want! If we accept more than four of your pieces from any one category, we will contact you so that you can decide which four pieces we will publish in that category.
  • Simultaneous submissions are welcome! Just let us know if your works are accepted elsewhere and you no longer retain the rights for publication.
  • Make sure your works do not infringe on copyright! Do not submit fanfiction or fanart; we will not able to publish them. Be mindful if using song lyrics or other potentially copyrighted material.
  • We copyedit all accepted writing pieces before publication. However, we will not make any changes to your work besides correcting spelling and grammar, and we will not be able to reach out to you for revisions. Please keep this in mind when you submit!
  • We have a 2500 word limit for all categories.

We look forward to reading your work!
